People need to know that the pretentious and over priced sushi restaurant known as Bistro Wasabi has the rudest staff and the most horrible service I have ever had, EVER. We ordered 2 basic rolls and an appetizer (which were average) and it took close to an hour to get served - The place was 1/2 empty AND WE WERE SITTING AT THE SUSHI BAR! We had to ask the hostess to find our waitress in order to order more drinks. We were totally ignored and were not made to feel welcome. This place SUCKS and I would never recommend it. One of our favorites – My husband and I have eaten here many times and always leave loving everything about it. The bar, sushi bar and restaurant are great. Best of all the food is out of this world. My favorite is the shrimp and scallops but I also love the sushi, their presentation is spectacular. We have also taken our 3 kids there, my 10 year old loves sushi! I have many friends that have been here as well and have said it is one of their favorite places to go.
My girlfriend and I are big sushi fans and when she moved to Woodstock to begin teaching we asked around for recommendations of a good sushi restaurant. All three couples we asked said "you have got to go to Bistro Wasabi for the best sushi in the area." While the sushi pieces are the largest I have ever seen, the specialty rolls are magnificent... not to mention the cold sake martinis garnished with fresh cuts of cucumber. Its an excellent choice for gourmet Japanese and cocktails before your evening event!
oriental delight – I have had nothing but excellent service and quality at Bistro-it is my #1 favorite place to dine. The waitresses have been very attentive and helpful. The mood is oriental, muted atmosphere and we love the quiet environment. The sushi bar is great and even sitting at the bar is a great time as the bartenders are friendly and attentive. I would very much reccomend it to anyone. The asparagus roll appetizer is fantastic as is the ahi tuna appetizer.
Better Customer Service/Management Needed – I thought my first bad experience was a fluke when I dined here during the week because of all the good reviews I'd read. The server took our order and didn't come back for 15 minutes. When he did arrive, he informed us that the kitchen was out of almost everything and we all had to change our orders. What's a sushi restaurant without any fish??!! And as I said, we had already waited 15 minutes for our meals!! Our second choices came out incorrect. When we didn't see our server for... read more
I love going to Bistro Wasabi. The staff is friendly and the food is spectacular. With it's ambient atmosphere, this restaurant provides an evening of elegant dining. Whether it be for a birthday or just for a night out, Bistro Wasabi is a great place to spend your money and your time. A reservation is definately reccomended, the weekends are very busy! Sushi is fresh, service is great.
Surprisingly excellent sushi – We went on a Friday night, and it was extremely crowded. The bar was an excellent place to unwind, the wait was somewhat long, but the food more than made up for it. The sushi was decadent and excellent. It was really fresh and innovative. The service was great and the waitress was really nice. It is exciting to know that such a great fresh sushi place exists in the suburbs!
excellent sushi – great sushi, and creative menu, pricing a bit high but well worth the quality. A little crowded but after eating there I understand why. Also opened a new location in hoffman estates, a little more trendy decore, but same fabulous menu and quality . a must if you like sushi and don't want to make the drive to chicago
lrr – I love eating here. The staff is always friendly. The food is always excellent - waits on the weekends can be over an hour. Because they are awalys crowded - service is a little slow at first - but improves over the stay. This is a bit of dining sophistication that is not very available in the area.
