I wanted to try foods that were unique to Louisville. The vistor center recommended Bistro 301 and so happy they did! We started with the Beer Cheese and Benedictine. From there, we had the Hot Brown and the finished off with the Derby Pie. Not having any of these items before, we had no comparison but we enjoyed each item. Our server was very pleasant and attentive to our needs. I would go back to Bistro 301 if I'm ever back in Louisville.
Just short of rude – The food was decent enough, but the service was terrible. I counted eleven staff and fifteen customers on the Monday night I went, and I still had trouble getting the bartender's attention. Several off-duty employees came in while I was there, and the staff spent a lot of time hanging with the off-duty staff. Downtown treasure This restaurant is a favorite of mine. The menu is limited but there are several delicious options. The wait staff is always attentive and quick.
brassy waitresses – Went to the spaghetti factory for lunch, but they weren't open, so we went across the street to Deke's I think it has been renamed since. I think our waitress had an attitude and when she wasn't busy she sat at the bar and smoked which was nasty. don't touch my food after that eww..
great bar food – ended up here only because spag factory next door was a 20 min wait for lunch at 11:45 am (20 mins for spaghetti?? uh, no thanks) regardless, had a buffalo chicken sandwich and a bowl of soup for lunch at deke's. THIS is how it's supposed to be.
