At the Birth Cottage, we believe that childbirth is a normal and natural event which, when left to nature, will proceed to an uncomplicated end in most cases. We believe the midwife's job is to assist the birthing family in the journey through pregnancy, labor, and birth by monitoring that natural process. Cases involving complications, which in our judgment cannot be handled safely, will be referred to persons trained to deal with obstetrical difficulties. Layla is one of the rudest, most unprofessional people you will ever meet. She has no degree and was just handed the job by her mother. She would not even show up to appointments blaming me stating that she didn't think that I would show up (???) and when she did finally show up over half an hour late half-tipsy from her Mexican margaritas she would make SO MANY rude jokes about my weight. Like woman, I am pregnant, not fat. Her assistants would just drop their jaws at her when she would do this not sure what to do or how I ... read more
