Had the most wonderful experience with Royal North Shore Maternity ward and birthing units .Everyone I crossed paths with were caring and helpful.The facility itself was great also. We had our first baby at RNSH and were lucky enough to be looked after in the midwife program. We can’t thank our amazing midwife, Helena B, enough. She went over and beyond throughout the entire pregnancy and birth. I’d love to have our second baby with her. Of course, nothing went according to my plan and we had to pivot, but thankfully I felt completely safe in her hands and in the hands of the team and I am very happy with the experience. I just wanted to share my deepest thanks to the entire maternity and birth unit at Royal North Shore Hospital. I was under their care for three weeks with GDM, preeclampsia, and ongoing renal monitoring, and every team — Obstetrics, Renal, Endocrinology, and all the amazing midwives — supported me and my baby in every possible way. The young midwives were great, they did an amazing job. Even the students in the room were extremely professional. However, I was shocked to learn that having a concession card doesn’t entitle you to a $30 concession discount on parking, instead of validating a concession via a concession card, they want to pay a social worker to sit down and go through your financial details at a salary cost of god knows what to then give you relief.
