My son has ADHD, so I was a little skeptical about how well he would do in an activity that requires so much discipline but I have been so incredibly pleased with the progress he has made. The instructors are not only skilled but they provide a very positive learning space, while expecting and encouraging each child to do his or her best. My son's self-confidence practically shines by the time we walk out of class. I highly recommend BAMA!
Representatives from the academy visited our patrons at the Springville Road Branch of the Birmingham Public Library. They gave a wonderful demonstration and taught the kids a few moves. I highly recommend this organization!
My daughter started here about a month ago and I cannot say enough about the wonderful team they have there. They truly love and take great pride in the work they do for and with these children. My daughter is so pumped to go to practice it kind of surprised me because after a few times at something she can tend to loose interest but not with this. I not only give her credit for this but the people at BMA. I could not be happier with deciding to join their program.
My son has been taking karate and has graduated from a white belt to a white belt senior. He loves it. All the instructor's are wonderful. Tonight was my first class. I had a great time. It is a great way for the two of us to do something together. He can even teach me a thing or two.
My husband & I began training at Birmingham Academy of Martial Arts in July of 2015. Our children started in June of the same year. We love going to classes each week & training together. One of the best things about doing class as a family, is that we're all striving for the same goal, & we use that to keep each other motivated! Two years ago, I would never have thought I'd be taking karate, now I wish I had started sooner!
