I have used Birkhead for almost 10 years for my HVAC system. They have always been so easy to work with. The ladies who answer the phone are so helpful. Yesterday on the hottest day that we have had in a long time, my air-conditioning went out. I called them to see if someone could come and take a look, and there was someone here within an hour! Birkhead installed my Trane energy-efficient HVAC system in 2003. It has worked great with only very minor issues for 18 years now. But, bad news, heat exchanger failed. Apparently heat exchangers are the heart of a furnace and cost well over $1000, part alone. Good news: Trane 20-year warranty meant the exchanger was free to me and I would not even have guessed it was under warranty after so long. The service tech, Larry, was truly exceptional. Our AC has gone out on a Friday and I called one of the "bigger" companies locally who came out late in the day. They diagnosed (for $80) several bad parts, including a motor, quoted me at $1800 and said they would call the next day and get me on the schedule "within the next week." I ended up calling the next day and was rudely told that they are "busy and will get to it sometime next week." First experience was great. Service tech was very knowledgeable. Customer service staff gave me the run around on my second attempt to give them business and when I called to follow up, the next lady was rude and wouldn’t let me finish a sentence to give her the info she asked for
I recommend Birkhead Co. without reservation. Their prices are fair; they provide excellent advice without trying to sell you on things you don't need. Their service is unreasonably good.
