My daughter and I took the modern calligraphy class in February. It was so fun and informative! McKenzie is a wonderful instructor - she is super patient! She makes you realize that what works for one person doesn’t always work for someone else. The whole class gets involved - it was a blast! You leave with the tools and information that make you WANT to go home and practice your individual technique! I am definitely looking forward to our next workshop! This store is selling items from Home Goods, and marking them up 3X!!! $5.99 items that ARE NOT wholesale markup!! Very deceiving.
We visited Birds and Words the the day after Christmas. We traveled 2 1/2 hours to get there and it was worth every minute the staff are exceptional and the quality of the products are impeccable. The prices are reasonable also so if your anywhere near or can spend a day visiting Birds and Words in McKinney TXDoT don’t hesitate you won’t be sorry!!

I took the modern calligraphy class here and loved it. Not only was it fun and informative, but you really get to ask questions about technique and figure out what you’re doing wrong, which numerous YouTube videos can’t help you with.
