This place is unbelievably slow and disorganized. What should be a quick, efficient process turns into a massive waste of time every single visit. It regularly takes over an hour just to get called back, even when the waiting room isn’t full. Then, somehow, it gets worse once you’re actually in the donation area. There have been multiple times where I’m already sitting in the plasma bed for 20–30 minutes before anyone even comes over to stick the needle. This place used to be great but now it takes an hour to wait for a donation then another 30 minutes to sit in the bed then an hour to donate. Iv missed classes and had to cancel sometimes. Ive seen some of the phlebs come to me to get started but they leave for like 15-20 minutes doing something else. Then come back. Expect to schedule 3-4 hour for a normal donation
The people that work here are great but this place is taking such a terrible turn on intake, scheduling and timing. 2 times I've canceled my appointment waiting to be screened for an appointment made a day in advanced. 1st on a Saturday afternoon 35min over my appointment time and still not called for screening. Today was told by the front desk 48min wait beyond your scheduled appointment time. I don’t know what changed, but this place has been terrible. Just waiting to get screened takes 30-45 minutes and then waiting to get stuck and disconnected is just as bad. This is not for lack of employees hard work, it’s for lack of enough employees. They are going to start losing donors if they don’t hire more people. It’s a college town with lots of donors, the center needs to be staffed accordingly. Super nice staff, the facility is always so nice and clean, and you have the best phlebotomists that are so fun, kind, and on top of it!! There’s time I’ve been here where it is extremely busy and can be stressful, but the service provided is always super!!
