I donated for the first time a bit ago, it was a very slow process but they did pay as promised. It is true that the staff wear gloves for their protection and NOT customers. The same phlebotomist works with donor after donor, squeezing their fingers for blood with their hand and does not change gloves between interactions. I have read similar complaints and it is true. Beware, nurses use the same pair of gloves to work on dozens of patients. I could never consciously support this center unless they change this policy. Blood borne pathogens basic training demands a higher level of safety and protection for patients. Totally unacceptable.
Spotless, super friendly staff, and overall great but none of the staff changed their gloves for the entire time I was there! This is ridiculous. They should change gloves after every interaction with donors. This really needs to change or the health department will shut them down
For some reason they have no employees checking people in. about 8-10 stations to get your weight and questionnaire completed but only two people working one doing return donors and one doing new donors? so if you tried to have a meal before donation as you are instructed it will be entirely digested before you get to donating. You guys are severely short staffed. You don’t respect appointment time slots. I was there for an hour and a half past my appointment time before even getting my finger poked. What is the point in having an appointment if you’re going to waste our time for an hour and a half before we even donate. You guys don’t pay your staff enough and you don’t have enough staff.
