Another high-priced bistro posing as an enoteca – Intrigued by the excellent wine list on the website and liking the whole wine-bar concept, I went here for after dinner drinks and dessert with some friends. We quickly discovered that this isn't really a wine bar, but a restaurant trading on the presumed Eurosophistication of the word "enoteca". When I told the host that we just wanted drinks and some desserts, I was told that we had to order food because they didn't have a liquor license to just sell drinks. Why call yourse... read more
Fantastic service, great ambiance, delicious food – We visited Bin 26 last night and had a fantastic time. We had reservations for 9pm, and when we arrived the place was packed, so we had to wait a few minutes. From the beginning, the owner and the manager both checked on us constantly, offering drinks, and just being nice. After we sat, our server (Mike) continued the same trend. We had the charcuterie plate and the grana padano cheese to start, then I had the leek-wrapped monkfish and my wife had the special fusili pasta e... read more
Best Wine Selections Here – I really enjoyed myself here for drinks and appetizers. The wine list is quite extensive so it was great to go and sample a few wines. Many of our choices came from all over the world so it was great to go to a nice place that serves more than just domestic wines. The appetizers were very tasty. The portions are small but I had no problem with that. My waitress was very nice and friendly. She was visible throughout the evening and anytime we had a question or needed anything she was right there. T... read more
Offensively priced food is terrible; Atmosphere is gimmicky - Go only for glass of wine – Save your money and go somewhere else. If you can't resist, just stay for a glass of wine. Six of us went for dinner - intrigued by the wine list and wanting to try some place new. The service was fine and but the food is terrible. My rabbit was dry and flavorless - an animal I've had often and cooked myself. It's hard to do rabbit badly. It came perched on a pathetic bed of eggplant that was coated in a boring sticky glaze. My wife's c... read more
Interesting wine list – As would be expected, Bin 26 Enoteca had an intersting wine selection with much explanation for the interested reader. The selection of different sizes by the glass or small carafe is quite a good idea. I was alone so I expecially liked the setup. Both of my courses were quite good--I had the rabbit on a cold winter night and enjoyed it, especially with the wine selection. The service was excellent. My only suggestion is to offer another dessert choice or so--all the choices are quite heavy. I plan to... read more
Good add to Beacon Hill – We had a nice evening at Bin 26. The service was good, a bit slow, and somewhat unorganized upon arrival. We didn't know if the bartender had let the host/manager know we had arrived, and were somewhat confused. The food was average/good, however, the pasta dishes were very small, so a hungry person should order something else. The cheese selection was good, but the wine selection and the decor was the best- large wine selection for good $, and intriguing decor. Next time I return, I will enjoy chee... read more
Upscale-casual restaurant and wine bar provides Beacon Hill residents with a stylish spot for fresh, Italian-accented fare. – The Scene Much like Lala Rokh, the handsome Persian eatery located right down the street that shares the same ownership, Bin 26 makes for an ideal date spot. Its voluminous wine list is one of the city's most varied and inviting (dozens of labels are available in various amounts, including 100 milliliter tasting pours). Back-clad servers are well-versed in the menu's numerous intricacies, and the mini... read more
Nice ambiance, nice staff, average food – Upon entry, the friendly maitre d' immediately made us feel welcome, even if we didn't know much about wine and had to ask him for suggestions. The mini-carafe's (100ml) are cute and a good choice to test out wines. The 5 of us sat at the long 'community table' in the middle. The overall atmosphere was friendly and not pretentious, which was a pleasant surprise. Appetizers were good, our waiter was friendly, but service was slow. I was not impressed with my seared tuna entree, which ... read more
Worst service ever. Not worth the high prices. – Terrible service. In fact, it is the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant (which made it worse given the high prices). Had to order things multiple times from the waiter, who was extremely arrogant. Owner and hostess were no better when it was brought to their attention - they basically made excuses. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Its a shame that Beacon Hill is tainted by such a place. You're much better off going to Figs a few doors down!
