I've been around alot of Big zoos in Australia and the UK but I've always found the smaller zoos to be Much better value and enjoyable. This zoo just proves my point. The staff are super friendly and the rangers are more then happy to take time for questions. All the animals look well looked after and enclosures are clean and tidy. Would strongly recommend it if your in the area.
We passed Billabong Zoo on the way to the Koala Hospital, and after an underwhelming visit there, we decided to stop in to Billabong and we’re so glad we did! The zoo was very reasonably priced for the experience we had. There were so many animals, and it was clear how well cared for they all were. Because it’s family-run, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it was such a great opportunity to learn about all the different animals. Ticket was over price,$45 per aldult, doesn't offer pension or student discount. Not many animals to see. Not recommended.
Our uber driver recommended this place as we were on our way to the koala hospital that’s near it. We are so thankful they did because we had one of the best experiences ever. It was a quiet day pretty much the zoo to ourselves but we had the best time. The animals seemed very well kept and the staff has so much passion for what they do. We brought our Canadian visitors to Billabong Zoo and we all had a great time!!! All staff are super friendly and helpful but a big shout out for Naomi the Ranger who facilitated the koala experience - she was super knowledgeable, skilled and a very good communicator- thanks Naomi for making our time very memorable 🤩
