I had a very good experience with dr basil. He took time with me and took finances into consideration when perscribing medications. I found him empathic to my personal situation. I did have to wait bit I believe it was due to him fitting in patients.
Dr. Basil seemed caring and knowledgeable during the first appointment I had wiith him. Subsequent visits were brief though. His office has a "factory" atmosphere, where many patients wait to see him. A major issue for me and the reason I ultimately decided to find a different doctor, was his unwillingness to return a phone call. I wanted to leave the message with the receptionist, but she refused, and told me to schedule another appointment despite the fact that I had one the prior day.
My son is his patient. Due to HIPPA regulations, Dr. Basil is legally unable to discuss his case with us. So, we sent a letter, asking Dr. Basil to please require psychological counseling as part of his treatment plan due to my son's acute instability. To date, Dr. Basil has done nothing more that meet with my son for 5 mins and prescribe pills. After the latest visit, nothing changed. How can a Psychiatrist ignore the underlying psychological issues and not require therapy to address them?!?1
Had 1 appt with him.During the appointment, he took a personal cell call. After appt, next step was for him to call my medical doctor before next appt. I alerted my doctor that he'd be calling. A week later, I asked my doctor if he had called. Nothing.Then I started leaving messages for him to call the doctor (or me) as per our first (and last) appointment. He NEVER returned any of the calls. The ofc was confused as to why they couldn't get him to act. He also seemed disinterested in his job.
