I personally found the owner’s communication and handling of issues to be very unprofessional. The contract, signed in January, required 50% of the total project cost upfront to "lock in" pricing, but the project was ultimately terminated. Material cost increases and permit delays were given as termination reasons. I had an experience working with Steve Grillo, during which he accepted my payment but did not deliver on his promises. The last communication I had with him was concerning my request for a refund, during which he threatened me if I continued to pursue the matter. Following that conversation, I attempted to reach out to him again, but he blocked my number.
