Wonderful hike to a very tall picturesque lighthouse situated right on a large beach. It's a 3 to 3.5 mile hike pending where you're able to park. The trail is wide, flat and easy to walk on the sand (at least it was during the winter). As with many if not all Lake Michigan beaches (in the lower peninsula) it would make for some splendid sunset pictures and a great place for a picnic lunch with the family.

Visiting the Big Sable Point Lighthouse felt like stepping into a perfectly preserved slice of Michigan’s lakeshore beauty. The walk to the lighthouse was part of what made the experience so special — a long, serene trail through soft sand, towering dunes, and quiet forests, with Lake Michigan’s breeze brushing past the trees.
