Visiting the Big Sable Point Lighthouse felt like stepping into a perfectly preserved slice of Michigan’s lakeshore beauty. Super friendly staff! Was really enjoyable to talk with them about the history of the lighthouse and experience it for the first time in 40 years (went there as a kid in the mid/early '80s). Absolutely amazing views from the top and worth the 1.5 mile walk. The walk is flat and mostly hard packed sand/dirt. Could bike it most of it with a mountain bike or larger/fat wheels.

Big Sable Point is absolutely beautiful and always worth the visit. My family has been coming here since I was a baby, and it’s one of those places that never gets old. I make sure to do the walk out to the lighthouse every summer. It is peaceful, scenic, and full of memories. The staff inside the lighthouse are always kind and helpful. If you’ve never climbed to the top, definitely make the time because the view is stunning!
