RecommendedYes and no, the crab soup is amazing but was very disappointed with the shrimp and crab cake pasta. The crab cake was fried hard and had to cut with knife was dry and flavorless and pasta had hardly any flavor. In future I will try just shrimp pasta. If flavorless as before I will order some crab soup and pour over. Love the atmosphere!!!

Yummy This is the best seafood place ever. They have the best seafood in the WORLD! I go there everytime I visit in Louisiana at my family's for vacation. The best!
Excellent food and service I went to Big Al's (for the first time) two years ago and I have been making it a twice a year pilgramige ever since! The prices are excellent on some of the best seafood (fried and grilled) in South Louisiana. They have good boiled crawfish (when in season) and my favorite is the Shrimp Po Boy! Pros: All of the food Cons: The drive to it from Baton Rouge!
Incredible crawfish I have been to Big Al's about 10 times in the past two years and I have to say that the food is incredible. They have the BEST crawfish I have ever tasted when it is in season. The service has gotten better a lot better since the new management has taken over. The only negative thing about Big Al's is that it takes me an hour to get there from New Orleans. If you are in South Louisiana, this is a must stop restaurant.
My husband orders boiled shrimp while I always get crabs! The boiled shrimp are always reheated and hard to peel! Will not go back!
Server Alyssa got my order wrong. No apologies for that. I had to request a second drink, Just over all terrible service.

Excellent service (Brad), delicious food, great cajun atmosphere, good acoustics and music (background-very soft). Can’t wait to go back. Worth the 2 hour drive!
