Great all-around bike shop – I moved to Chapel Hill in 2006 and the hills here took a serious toll on my old commuter bike. I used the excuse to get a new one, which I bought at the Clean Machine in Carrboro (the sister store to the Bicycle Chain on Franklin) a few months after I arrived. Wonderful Service – As a newbie to road biking, I wasn't even sure what to look at and compare as I was trying different bikes. Unlike most stores that just hand you a bike to test ride around the parking lot, John at Franklin Street Cycles took the time to answer all my questions, adjust each bike before my test ride, suggest a good route, and most importantly, told me what to look & feel for as I rode.
