THE BEST antique/period piece jewelry store ANYWHERE – If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. And I don't say this lightly. Mr. Stephen Forward owns this place and he is absolutely delightful. Mr. Forward is not only caring, patient, and very kind, and but he is also extremely knowledgable in this field. I also learned through my own research that he used to analyze/rate diamonds for DeBeers, and gives lectures around the country on antique and period piece jewelry. Anyway--- my mother and I entered this store looking for engagement rings. Our experience in this store was not only extremely pleasant, but it was everything that an engagement ring buying experience should be. Though I felt almost immediately that I knew I wanted the ring I saw and tried on, Mr. Forward said I should sleep on it and see if I still felt the same way the next day. That was much different from any other jewelry experience I've ever had! By the way, the most important thing is that my ring is AMAZING. It is a gorgeous diamond ring with a platinum band. It is an original period piece from the European Art Deco period (approx 1922-1925). I couldn't be happier with it. It is simply stunning. My husband and mother and I just love it-- I get compliments all the time! The store is quaint but the quantity and quality of period piece/antique jewelry there is unsurpassed. I'll look forward to going back here again in the future. I would happily recommend this place to anyone.

Best kept jewelry secret in Chicago – We had looked around the Michigan Avenue area for wedding bands and visited some of the major jewelers in the area. We saw some nice rings to complement my fiance's engagement ring, but she didn't get the warm and fuzzy feeling that someone gets when they know they've found the right thing for them. These rings were also definitely pricey, which is expected when looking at new rings at a name brand store. Anyhow, we kept looking and today we decided to look at some estate jewelry, antique rings in platinum and diamonds with engraving that would also go really well with her engagement ring. I found one place around the area on Walton Street, it's called House of Khan. We went there and met with Tobina Kahn, who showed us some rings and was very nice. They did not have anything in the store today that worked, and she was cool enough to tell us about Beverley R, just down the street next to the Drake Hotel. She told us to stop by there to check out their rings. We are so glad we did! We walked over, rang the door bell and met Stephen. He is a super great gentleman. I believe he said that he has been working with antique and estate jewelry for over 30 years, and has been in Chicago for the past couple of years. He said he's originally from London, and we talked about that for a little while since we are going to London as part of our honeymoon. We looked at all of the beautiful rings he had, and each one of them was cool and unique. He explained to us that rings that have diamonds all the way around them cannot be resized, so when you are looking at estate or antique rings like this, you need to find one that you love and that fits you well. After spending about 40 minutes or so talking and trying on the rings, that warm and fuzzy feeling was obvious and we got a beautiful1930's vintage wedding band ring made of platinum, with over 1.6 carats of diamonds all the way around it, and really amazing detailed engraving all around it. We even looked at it with a loupe and the detail was so cool. We are very happy with our experience today, and would definitely recommend Beverley R to anyone looking for great jewelry like engagement rings and wedding bands. I know that we will go back for sure to see Stephen when we want to get other jewelry. Jimmy - Humboldt Park
