Don't use Bettendorf Heating & Air Conditioning! I paid for service on our A/C unit in June or July where they discovered the possibility of a slow leak. The service guy injected some dye into the system and came back in September to tell me there was a leak but wanted to charge me a $150.00 to tell me he discovered slow leak. This was after the office manager told me it would be a courtesy visit. He also wrote an estimate of $2,500 to replace the coil in the unit or $6500 for a new unit. <p>The paid service in June was for a unit not cooling properly. The unit was charged with refrigerant and dye was added to find the possible source of the leak at a future time. Charging the unit with refrigerant restores the cooling capability but does not address the source of the leak. After dye is installed we recommend a follow up leak search at a future date. We usually schedule them out a few weeks to ensure the ac has run enough for the dye to be detected when we arrive for the leak search. When we called to confirm... read more
