I have loved the society since the 90's It enabled me to find and read for the first time Carney's House Party and Emily of Deep Valley. I was always sad as a girl growing up in Midland, Texas that those two books were not in our Public Library. My husband took me and our two sons on a vacation to Mankato so I could see all the Betsy Tacy and Tip sights. It was a dream come true. I was when Meg Ryan mentioned the Betsy book in the movie You've Got Mail.

Finally can cross the Betsy Tacy houses off our summer bucket list. It was magical to be there and we live close enough that we will definitely visit again!

When I was a little girl my mother started me out on the Betsy Tacy books and they grew with me. The high school books and beyond are particular favorites. My mother and I always hoped to visit together, but we did not make it before I lost her to breast cancer. I loved touring the homes and the warmth of the volunteers who made it possible. Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen! Mankato is a beautiful place to visit.

Loved seeing these two wonderful houses this weekend, through a tour with an excellent guide named Penny, especially since I was with my daughter, Tacy Lambiase, and my mom, Rosalyn Johnson. These homes have been lovingly, painstakingly restored and maintained. You should visit the library and county historical museum to learn more about Lovelace. And Mankato is lovely, with beautiful parks and other places mentioned in the Betsy-Tacy books.
