We found the hotel to be charming and the staff friendly and helpful. Our king room was large and shower pressure good. Bed comfortable, room quiet, heat/cooling controls worked good. A cute original central hotel staircase (of course there is also an elevator), and interesting Pioneer Square historical photos in the hallways. Free breakfast was better than expected, with a variety of breakfast sandwiches, plus waffles, cheeses, yogurt, oatmeal, etc... Way better than any less expensive hotel I've stayed in. The charm of a 1900's Seattle hotel but the amenities and toiletries of a much newer place. Everything worked, shampoos and other bathroom items are high quality, perfect location in Seattle and very very nice staff. Decent breakfast for a continental breakfast. I was impressed! Super clean!! The only way you won't like it is if you need a view and a pool!!
We stayed here before and after an Alaskan cruise. If you want sleek, modern, and high price, then look elswhere. This is a rennovated older hotel with a lot of woodwork and a historic feel to it. It has the "personality" that new hotels lack. The staff was fantastic and our room (we requested the same room for both stays) felt as comfortable as your grandparents' home.
