Great location
I had a great stay at the Getaway Hotel in Santa Monica. The hotel is very clean, and the service was phenomenal. I’ve stayed here three times and have had no complaints. The only downside was some noise coming from the top floor. If you’re not sensitive to noise while sleeping, it shouldn’t be an issue. The staff kindly changed my room, which I really appreciated. The location is excellent—within walking distance of a great gourmet coffee shop. I was very happy with my stay and would definitely come back again.
Unless you stay in a handicap room, which I highly recommend, the regular hotel rooms have bathroom doors that automatically won't stay open. What the heck is that?! Good luck in an earthquake or fire if you're in a bathroom that won't stay open. You could get locked in! I tried propping the bathroom door open, but it blocked the main hotel room door.
