Had a great time staying here during a motorcycle road trip with a bunch of friends in late Sep, 2025. We had a row of rooms on the ground level with convenient parking right outside our room. I travel a lot for work from basic "get the job done" type of 2 or 3 star hotels to 5+ star JW Marriott, Fairmont, and Four Seasons. You get what you pay for. Owner doesn't pay "us" (his employees) in full or ever on time! But other than that it's a nice hotel and all the employees are super awesome professional and super personable
Upon entering our room it appeared clean and recently updated however within one hours time when the scent of the cleaning products had worn off the strong odor of mildew took over. The vinyl flooring was popping up in several areas and apparently water from an unknown source was causing the horrible odor. We contacted the front desk and were given another room and moved our belongings. The following morning and after not sleeping well we had an early appointment. German roaches. 'Nuff said, I didn't sleep a wink that night. One can hope this issue is long gone and these things can happen, but the little fellas had evidently been set up behind the mini fridge for more than a generation. The owner reluctantly comp'd me the night but I had been planning to hike lassen peak the next day. A ruined vacation, sleep, and waste of my time... worst overnight stay ever. Picked because less expensive than neighboring Redding hotels. Glad we did. Rooms were great and very clean. Would return.
