My house was built in the 1960’s. It has the old cast iron drain pipes and air stacks. In order to regain drainage for my bathroom sink the plumber had to cut a section of the cast iron pipe and add pvc to open the flow. He seemed very confident and knowledgeable in his abilities .It involved toilet removal , cutting through existing sheetrock and then cutting out a section of the old cast iron pipe/airstack .He completed the repair , put the toilet back and cleaned up the area I was very pleased .
