I don’t know his name, but the mechanic always working in the back is exceptionally skilled. I feel like an idiot for the fact that I took my commuter bike, for service, to Performance Bike shop for years. All while this guy was silently working in my own back yard. Luckily for me I figured it out. My bike has never run better. This mechanic is top shelf.
Bernie’s is a true Ocean Beach classic. Roger, the long-standing owner, is a seasoned mechanic and frame builder who’s been building wheels since he was 14. I came in for one fix, he spotted a few more, and had everything done within 24 hours. Skilled, honest, and fast—perfect Labor Day reminder of work done right.
one of the best locally owned bike shops in town, you can get personal service and quality repairs on your bikes here with a smile. roger the owner (not bernie; the name is from the original owner in the 70's) will take the time to right whats been wronged with your mountian bike, beach cruiser, bmx, road bike, track bike you name it and he does it!

Came in Friday for basic tune up. Was told it could be ready late next day... then asked if I could bring it in Monday...was asked if I could bring it in Tuesday 🤷🤷 not sure what's up with all the good reviews
