I am very blessed to have Dr Bendok perform my brain surgery. He is an eminence in his field, his human quality matches his knowledge and skills. Outstanding doctor, outstanding person. It is hard to have brain surgery because of the unknown, but if you have doctor Bendok, know that you are in the best hands
Dr Bendok is absolutely amazing and truly cares about his patients. I was able to get quickly scheduled for an appt to answer some concerns I had. When I had follow up questions after they even scheduled a phone call for me the same day and Dr Bendok himself called me in the evening. Dr. Bendok performed two complex craniotomies on my husband, in two different areas of the brain, six months apart. Both surgeries were high-risk, with a real possibility of him losing mobility in his hand. In one case, a feeding artery had to be disconnected. Something about him feels disingenuous to me. I don’t doubt that he’s a good surgeon. But after he performed my surgery, I began to feel like he was done with me and lost interest in continuing to treat me. It’s never a good thing when a doctor makes a patient feel that way. He would often call hours late (I get it - maybe a surgery went longer than planned) or hours early for our appts. Initially he said a follow up angiogram about 6 months later is the norm.
