Friendly service, tasty hearty food, dog-friendly patio, reservations recommended... – ...at least on friday or sat nights or sunday brunches - sometimes you luck out but sometimes they are packed full! But they gladly take reservations & its rare for your table not to be ready on time even when people are waiting outside the door. Food is hearty - lots of meat & potatoes! Several vegetarian options too. Seems slightly overpriced but a lot of the portions are large too. I wish they offered smaller plates for a smaller price,... read more

Fantastic Food, great cozy atmosphere! – Went to the Berlin Inn Restaurant last night for dinner, the place was fantastic! What a nice cozy place to have dinner, it was like dining at home with full service! The food was better than any other German place here in Portland. It was nice to have a selection of different Fondues. Everything, including the desserts, are hand made on location, the owner even grows some of her own vegetables. The wait staff was fantastic, prompt and very knowledgeable of the menu items, the wine li... read more

Maybe we just got the "B" team? – We went to see a show at the Aladdin this eve, and thought we would try Berlin for the first time since it is so close, and the reviews so good. Well, we should have gone elsewhere. The place was not busy, about half the table were full, and the patio was closed. We did get a prompt and courteous greeting, were given some choices on tables, and started off the dinner feeling up-beat. The menu is quite large in terms of items and choices, and that also made us feel like we had a winner. We st... read more

Hidden Gem - Best German Food in Portland – Best German food in Portland. When you go I recommend the Sausage, Potatoes, and Sauerkraut dinner. (That's not what it's called but ask for it). Also, if you like beer, the Berlin Inn has some of the best beer I've had in Portland. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and more than happy to make a recommendation. When it comes to breakfast the Berlin Inn is delicious and very reasonably priced. Try the beer battered blueberry pancakes. The ambiance is nice. It makes you feel li... read more

Great German experience!! – This is one of my favorite resturaunts around! A little difficult to find(on 12th street) BUT totally worth it. Excellent german cousine, great selection of beer, and nice friendly service.

The best of authentic German flavors around – AMBIENCE and SERVICE: The converted house that is this German grub jewel sticks out in the area. Outside, a small deck/patio is surrounded by plants and flowers, giving it a slight european feel. Inside, the German decor feels Hansel and Gretel-esque as it is cozy and quaint. At the table a friend and I had, there was a view of Mt. Adams in the distance (ignoring the warehouse across the street). The staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. MENU: The menu has extensive offer... read more

Tasty German foods and desserts, intimate dining The Berlin Inn is a cozy restaurant with large portion, tummy satisfying German food. Their chicken snitzel is to die for and I love it accompanied by a birch beer soda. Their deserts are out of the world, apple strudel is my favorite but the cakes are oh so tempting too. It is a small restaurant so I would advise reservations or eating early, it is worth the wait though and we are repeat customers.

Best of German Food Around – I've eaten at all of the local German places and this is BY FAR the best food around. Other places may be less expensive, but sometimes...ya get what ya pay for. I'd much rather spend an extra $10 or so and have excellent food. I've NEVER gotten cold food there as someone else's review stated and I've been a loyal customer there for 9 years. So go! And enjoy!
