I brought my son here and waited 4days before they was able to send him to the right place. This hospital is not even worth going, like they don’t care about you! it’s better going to Winchester hospital or Hagerstown they will help you way better than this one
I found out why others are complaining about the emergency department now. I have a few friends that are from Martinsburg and they all say that it's a hit and miss when it comes to treatment. I have two friends that are alcoholics but have been sober for years. After they were treated here in the ER. The ER Dr would always say please come back if you need to. Terrible experience. My boyfriend broke his leg very badly, and all they did was “splint it.” Barely anything for pain. Told him he could walk when he shouldn’t have been - went to follow up orthopedic appointment and they said the hospital really dropped the ball on this because it is a very bad break. We actually went to that emergency room TWICE and they did next to nothing. He now has more damage to it because of their incompetence. Go to a different emergency room if you want help - not here.

I've always been very well taken of at WVU medical ER. I've even had to stay in the ER several nights waiting for a bed on a med-surge unit upstairs. I didn't appreciate being moved throughout the ER to 3 different rooms. That is a huge flaw upper management needs to address. The staff are very courteous and attentive. The food is top notch for a hospital. Other than having to sit in a room with people gagging, coughing, puking, cursing and kids screaming for a period of time, I have no concerns.
