Absolutely the worst hospital I've been to in my life. I went in with symptoms of a serious kidney infection and collapsed in the waiting room while attempting to drop off my urine sample and not a single staff member attempted to help me. Other patients were yelling at staff members to help me up and not a single one did so. I waited 3hrs just to get to exam room and once in there, I didn't get bloodwork or IV and was told they actually lost my urine sample. I was recently a visitor at the Berkeley Medical Center’s ER. Why in gods name do they use these massive needles to take blood samples? They hurt like hell! Why can’t the official blood draw needle be the butterfly needle, it doesn’t hurt as much and its gauge is larger making the needle smaller! I had fantastic care during my stay but I got stuck 3 times with no blood draw success. They had to send in a sonogram machine to locate a vein to get the blood drawn; which was successful. I brought my son here and waited 4days before they was able to send him to the right place. This hospital is not even worth going, like they don’t care about you! it’s better going to Winchester hospital or Hagerstown they will help you way better than this one

I found out why others are complaining about the emergency department now. I have a few friends that are from Martinsburg and they all say that it's a hit and miss when it comes to treatment. I have two friends that are alcoholics but have been sober for years. After they were treated here in the ER. The ER Dr would always say please come back if you need to.
