So I called a company to come out to do maintenance on my HVAC unit and they told me I needed a new heat exchanger and gas valve. They said I would be better off buying a whole new unit. But this didn't sit with me right. The heat exchanger wasn't that old and was still under warranty. Last night around 7pm (23Jan) when temps started dropping in to the twenties we started smelling a burnt wire smell every time the heat came on. We called Berkeley ( used exclusively) and thinking I wouldn’t be able to get someone out to the house due to weather conditions.
