While Benson Animal Hospital service is timely, their policies around Covid-19 seem to be good, and their staff seem attentive, their prices are outrageous. $90 Office Call to weigh and collect blood for a routine, annual Heartworm test + $72 Heartworm test that is required to be sent to a lab for verification rather than being performed in the office. As with all medical practices (animal or human), there is a baseline price for an examination by a medical professional. As caregivers and practitioners we are concerned with the comprehensive health of the pet, thus animals are required to be examined prior to the performance of any tests or labs. My elderly in-laws have an elderly pet, and we’ve had a few visits here lately. Dr. Benson is gentle, thorough, and caring. In what I can best describe as excellent “bedside manner,” Dr. Benson is clear and caring about the health of your beloved pet.
Dr. Benson spent a lot of time explaining my cats issue to me. Made excellent suggestions. He was truly concerned about Henry. The staff was nice and very accommodating. The fact that It's a walk in clinic really works with my schedule. So glad my friend recommended them.
So wonderful with my dogs! Very knowledgeable, super helpful, can get in quickly. Definitely go here!!
Over the past 20 odd years, we have seen the Drs B with multiple cats and a dog. The staff has changed here and there and a few we could have done without some attitudes but over all, they are good folks. As far as the Drs are concerned, we moved to VA and we still travel to Bethesda. We wouldn't trust anyone else with our pets.
