I was born ( 1965) and raised about 200' from this place on Cottage Street. ( I moved out of Philly many years ago) Back in the 1970s, I would pass by this store on my way to Lawton every day for years. It was a candy store then. Then it abruptly closed down. (There was also a candy store at Benner & Jackson and Benner and Walker Streets then too). Lots of great memories from the 1970s....kids riding their bikes...trick or treating... It's great to see this store open and providing great food and memories for the local commu... read more
