Dr. Benkel, in my first time mom experience, is a good pediatrician. He’s not an alarmist, which I like, and he’s very calm around a crying baby. I’ve dealt with 3 receptionists there, two of them are wonderful and sweet and one of them is an absolute witch. Extremely rude, snotty and abrupt even to the other receptionist. Making comments about parents ages, asking if what my son had was contagious on my way out- not pleasant in the least. i was a patient many years ago when i was a child/teen. now in my 30's. i had always been my own advocate and done my own research. i asked for a blood test because i believed i had hypothyroidism. he said i dont and i didnt need it. after i insisted and insisted, he caught an attitude and said take the test. well, the test came back and i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. if i wouldnt have insisted, i would never have known. he didnt take time to listen to me and i would never recommend him.
