I am writing this review as the daughter of one of Dr. Widmer’s patients. My father underwent revision shoulder surgery after a shoulder replacement became infected and he developed sepsis. We understand this was a serious situation and that surgery was necessary. However, what has been incredibly difficult to accept is the permanent deformity he was left with. "Dr." Widmer messed up my brothers shoulder surgery so bad that hes having to have multiple other surgeries just to try and relieve some of the pain. But the original surgery was THE WRONG ONE and has potentially made it impossible for him to actually get reconstruction surgery. Hes in excruciating pain almost all the time, tendons twisting and its painful to watch. I had my left tricep surgically reattached and my surgeon was incredible. After seeing me, he got me into the OR the very next day. His bedside manner is excellent, and he took the time to comfort my wife before surgery when we were both scared. My only complaint was with the person who first answered the phone when we called to make the appointment. Dr. Widmer and his staff are great. They explained my reverse shoulder procedure thoroughly and I left feeling confident in my upcoming procedure. The only reason for 4 stars is because I had to wait an hour and a half past my appointment time before I was able to see the doctor.
