In October 2024, I had lumbar spine surgery by Dr. Benjamin Ditty of Neuroscience and Spine Associates in Naples and Fort Myers. The goal was to clean out the space left from a leaking disc after a rupture 6 years before and give me some relief from bone-on-bone back and sciatic nerve pain. I suffered a compression fracture to my T-spine and was referred to ‘Dr.’ Ditty by the ER as well as my PCP. My appointment was scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024. I received a call from his office on Wednesday, November 27th to cancel because ‘he it’s going to be out of town’! Seriously?!?! I’m in SO MUCH pain it’s unreal, yet they won’t even answer the phone. What kind of ‘doctor’ does that?? You couldn’t pay me enough to see this egomaniac now, as it’s obvious his “patients” don’t matter!!!!!!!
Dr Ditty was referred by a well known doctor in my community. Prior to my appointment I confirmed, in writing, with my insurance that he was in my network. After 10-12 calls to his office, being hung up on, twice on hold for 30 min while the staff confirmed they had received my MRI, then 'Oh sorry, I forgot about you. Now what's the name?' I finally got my appt. I showed up 30 min early, staff were terribly rude. Dr. Ditty performed my surgery on April 3, 2024. I had to have a laminotomy and medial facetectomy bilateral L4-L5 and LT L5-S1. I am now almost 4 weeks postoperative and am amazed with how much better I feel. He is an excellent neurosurgeon that I highly recommend . His staff is amazing and always answers and all questions.
He is an amazing surgeon. My case was very complicated and he had to fuse my entire back in a 14 hr surgery. He is kind and he is a great listener. He is by far the best doctor I have ever seen. After 30 yrs of back pain I am now pain free. His pa Kellly is also terrific. It’s been a long process but I am so grateful that I am pain free! Thank you Dr Ditty and Kelly.
Dr Ditty served me well, however, I am a new patient and two of the office staff were curt with me.
At first I was very impressed with Dr. Ditty. He was kind, caring and professional explaining my back problems. The follow up appt he kept me waiting 40 minutes, rushed in, was preoccupied and was totally disinterested in my issues. He told me the direct opposite of what he had diagnosed 2 weeks prior. I was hurried out and decided to find a different neurosurgeon.
My husband saw Dr Ditty and had a dicsectomy in October 2022. His pain was immediately relieved. It took him a few weeks to get over the surgery, but he did and is very glad he had it done. Dr Ditty and his PA were both kind, patients, explained things well, our visits with him were not rushed and they were very knowledgable and kind.
I was nervous about my upcoming appointment with Dr. Ditty which quickly was put to rest when after looking at my MRI he turned to my husband and I and said "but you are fixable"!! I had quite an extensive surgery of over 8 hrs. on 10/25/2022 and YES he fixed me. I am so grateful for all he has done for me. I don't know what could have been had I not been referred to Dr. Ditty.
