Recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Was put on a medication that I feel hasn’t been working for me. Have told her and her team that multiple times and have been dismissed about my concerns that I feel something more is going on since I’m still having extreme abdominal cramps to the point of being in tears. Cancelled all future procedures and appointments with them.

Told me my EXTREME and chronic abdominal pain was all in my head and that she wouldn’t pursue further. 6 months later I had my spleen removed from this pain and was told it was Enteric Neuropathy. “Enteric neuropathy is a degenerative neuromuscular condition of the digestive system.” Which is something she “specializes” in. God awful doctor that made me rethink my entire medical history, (Type 1 diabetes, Celiac, Crohn’s and now Enteric Neuropathy.) If you care about yourself do not get care from Poonam Beniwal Patel.

Very poor communication. Made the call for me to have a life changing surgery about 4 years ago and I haven’t heard from her since. MyChart never allows me to book appointments with her, and when I do get appointments they’re never with her. She usually sends in one of her “assistants”, yet she still never follows up. It’s almost like she’s a ghost all of a sudden. And had I known she was fired from a VA center, I would’ve NEVER agreed to proceed with the surgery she suggested. This woman was fired from the VA in 2019. She does not care for her patients.
