I am a. Patient of one of the other Doctors in the practice.. I poked my eye and called the service the next day after having discomfort. Dr Benedetto returned the called within 15 minutes and was absolutely correct how to handle the problem.. I apologized for bothering him on a holiday weekend and he was so kind and said this is his job. Very kind.
I am a Professor of Fine Arts at a NJ University .My problems resulted from a Central Retinal Vein Occlusion, 2 decades ago, which greatly impacted my sight. When I saw the highly specialized retinologists at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, they recommended that I see Dr,Dominick Benedetto, as my regular ophthalmologist, because of his superior reputation as an outstanding eye physician. When I had a retinal tear on one Xmas Eve, Dr.Benedetto opened his office to see me! C. Yoshimine
As a highly educated professor in my sixties, I can assure you that Dr. Benedetto has has my highest rating. He saved the sight of close friend of mine. He came to his office on a holiday to treat her. He may have saved her vision. She recommended him when I needed treatment for high eye pressure. . He is highly professional, attentive, and sensitive. I grew up with doctors as friends of the family. My closest friend is a physician. Dr Benedetto is a healer is the finest traditions of medicine
As a provider Im appalled. doesnt do contacts, condescending, arrogant and rushed me kept saying he needed to get to the OR when I was on time. Didn't even check reading vision even though I was there for an annual exam. Didn't check eyes w a proper exam. Saw another eye doc 2 weeks later for proper exam. new doc was shocked that he refracted eyes after dilation and didn't notice I reading glasses. Asks if I have contacts in when I'm wearing glasses and he's looking in my eyes w machine. Awful.
Business response:
This post was made by a nurse practitioner with no formal medical school or ophthalmic training. I have called her to clarify her inaccuracies, misinterpretation of ophthalmic procedure and misunderstanding of the findings of other professionals. She has not responded to my call. Office has a licensed optometrist for contact lenses. Contacts were addressed. Proper eye exam was done with all thirteen required elements. Refraction when dilated determines full amount of nearsightedness.
Im in medicine 20 yrs. He is a terrible doctor and awful bedside manner. He dilated eyes and later I went to NY Presby Eye Institute opthalmologist who confirmed husband never should have been dilated w the degree of angle closure in his eye and could have caused an acute glaucoma causing blindness. So bad she got emergency ultrasound of eyes and immediate glaucoma specialist. Benedetto missed the boat and in NY they told us this is Optho basics. He rushed, did refraction after dilation-awful!
Business response:
This post was made by a nurse practitioner with no formal medical school or ophthalmic subspecialty training. Total misrepresentation of facts. She has not responded to my call to clarify. No boat missed here. Her other comment above also unsubstantiated. Office has a licensed optometrist for contact lenses. Contacts were addressed. Proper eye exam was done with all thirteen required elements . Refraction when dilated determines full amount of nearsightedness.
Waited over an hour still wasn't seen. No one is worth waiting this long. My time is valuable as well!
Business response:
Completely understand your time is valuable. Some patients require a longer time period than usual and unfortunately that puts all physicians behind in scheduling and seeing patients.
