I didn't do my due diligence before going here, by checking the online reviews. I'm a medical assistant and we sent all of our dermatology referrals to Dr. Bender. Upon having a visit with him, he seemed inconvenienced, bothered, mentioned not liking to be busy and cut the appointment short. I would really question the level of care you are going to get here, especially if you have any skin cancer concerns. I had a face rash that had stumped 3 dermatologist over 10 years. Dr. Bender diagnosed and prescribed it correctly on my first visit. Thank you, relief at last!
Do not go to Dr Bender. He is not thorough and overlooks the cancerous spots that need to be removed because he does a very quick overall check. I kept finding them myself and had to go back more than once to have them checked, and yep he missed them and they were precancerous. Not to mention being billed each time. I have a history of precancerous spots and need a thorough doctor. Very scary when he acts like he's in a hurry and won't take the time. Bender was straight and to the point with no BS. Didn't hold me over for longer than needed and I didn't have to wait long after entering "the room". Kind but not polite (which when I want a doctor I don't want polite but not kind). Asked if I had any other concerns, which at the time I did not. The negative reviews to me feels like a bunch of weiners that manage their time poorly.
Called in July and asked if they accepted my insurance. They said they did and I scheduled an appointment for October. Called on the day of my appointment to confirm the appointment and they told me I didn’t have one. That I was told in July they don’t accept my insurance. That was literally my first question to them when I made the appointment. So unprofessional to mess up an appointment and lie to the patient about it.
