I've no idea about the actual hotel but the outside looks real nice. I'm writing this review to try and help get the word out. The fireworks display is comparable to the Eureka city show. I'd never even heard about Benbow putting on a show before and our family was excited to go somewhere new for fireworks this year. It was chill and quiet (other than the fireworks of course) and you basically get to choose your spot to set up a blanket or whatever at the park across the way. The location was beautiful. We enjoyed our room, bathroom and the restaurant and outdoor terrace.
Benbow Inn is a great historic property deep in the redwoods. The rooms are spacious but the beds are tired - you will be too. The green LEDs on the smoke detectors are very bright. The mini splits keeping you cool are surprisingly noisy and never stop running. Service was good. Friendly but did have issues with our final bill. The food is decent but there are better options in Garberville.
