STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!! Dr. Ben Cohen did so much damage to my mom's eyes, and made her condition even worse!! He took my mom in for countless surgeries. My mom had a very big problem in her eye, which he never even detected. The very next day after seeing Dr. Cohen, my mom found a wonderful doctor at the NY Eye & Ear Hospital who found the problem. Dr. Ben Cohen DESTROYED MY LIFE...RUN AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!! He took me in for surgery after surgery after surgery, claiming that my retina kept detaching. During one of the surgeries, he actually tore my iris leaving me with a totally deformed eye, which is now colorless and I'm blind in that eye. This is how I had to spend my life!!! In addition, during one of the surgeries he didn't give me enough anesthesia, and I actually heard him talking and laughing with the nurse! I visited Dr. Ben Cohen at Retinal Associates for the first time. I was struck by how many moving parts, and how large the office was – assistants and doctors scurrying around quickly and two waiting rooms with about a dozen or more patients waiting. Things seemed to move fast as they ushered me to different rooms and stations for eye drops, tests, scans, another room with more eye drops, scans, and finally the doctor. Not a minute was wasted. Dr Cohen is terrific. My husband has had problems with his eyes for the past 7 years. Dr Cohen is very accessible. He answered my texts when there have been problems- he even met us on the street outside a restaurant he was having brunch at, upstate near where we were both vacationing, to look at my husband’s eyes. He’s a real mensch and an excellent doctor.
