The bar is noted for its whimsical murals of author/artist Ludwig Bemelmans, creator of the popular Madeline children's books. The spot also features piano jazz Monday through Saturday and there is a cover to sit at the bar or at a table.

Fabulous, one of a kind experience
Wonderful, intimate venue with amazing live music. We stayed in house this time and I felt as if I didn’t need to leave the property. Great memories. Will return for sure!

Great music!! Over the top service!! You feel like you are a part of the New York City that once was. I walk in and everyone knows me by my name. Bar tenders to the manager. There’s a cover charge for the music. $15 at the bar and $25 at a table. Considering it’s The Carlyle the drinks are reasonable compared to some Nyc hotel bars that offer no entertainment. I haven’t even talked about the entertainment in this review. Great great great!!!
