My mortgage was transferred here so I'm not a client by will. But it's 2019 and they have no online payment option unless I open an account. So now I have to be a customer twice against my will?? Or sign up for direct debit (I've read nothing terrible but terrible reviews about this service) Or send a check. Not a bank that I would recommend for anyone in the 21st century. Very unhappy to be linked to this bank.
They make it a hassle to close an account. Trying to move my savings balance into my Belmont Savings checking account. Online banking does not let me move the balance below $10. Call service to assist and say I have to come into a branch to transfer money. Could not offer any other guidance when I explained I no longer lived near a branch location. Has to have been he least helpful interaction ever.
The bank just sold itself to People's United Bank with zero announcements to customers by letter in monthly mailing or separate. It also imcluded a barely visible link in website for purchase. Obviously the bank does not want to advertise the sell-out! WHY? Where the hell is the transparency? A bank is frequently if not usually bought out by a bigger bank if there are financial reasons. Belmont Savings is a NIGHTMARE. They expect their customer to clean the mess they created. After receiving a BAD CHECK from a dealer, they sent the title to the dealer. Who cares about the dealer anyways, when they can collect payments from me. I have been asking for their help for the last 7 weeks to chase the dealer, wellI I got NOTHING. All they can tell me is when is my next pay due.
This banking institution is TERRIBLE. RUN do not take a loan from them. My car loan was through them it was one problem after another with them. There is no option to pay except to mail it in and half the time it got " lost in the mail." I was told NOT to send the payment to the address printed on the monthly statement because it was incorrect and to send the check to another location.
