a truly authentic experience – Our family was just wondering around the city and came across this great little jewel. Great pizza and what a fun time with the staff - Mario was the best - playing and joking with our 3 year old son. We had a blast and wish we could order some takeout to Cali! Next time we are in the city we will be visiting again.
Awesome Food, Great Service and Wonderful Prices! – While visiting New York on vacation for New Year's, my girlfriend and I went twice to Bella Napoli. It was recommended to us by a tour guide. We were incredibly impressed. Mario, who is the owner and chef, is one amazing cook. The food was spectacular! The prices were very reasonable, and cheaper than elsewhere (given that the area can be pricey). The staff is very friendly, and the service is great. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to friends and family...and wo... read more
Really good, authentic Italian Food – Found this place driving by it on a tour bus and noticed the host outside talking to some folks. He looked very happy. So, we tried it on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. We had Caesar salad, garlic bread, Chicken Parmesan, Pasta Primavera, Pizza, and a dish I forgot the name of with marinara sauce with green olives and anchovies over pasta. It was all great. The host met us at the door, visited with us and walked us to our table. He also checked on us during the meal. Entrees in the... read more
Great Pasta-every trip – Food great- We make sure we stop every time we come for a day bus-trip visit to NYC. On 49th, so a perfect place to stop for dinner and a glass of wine before taking bus back home. Varied menu and everything we tried has been delicious. Prices very reasonable. It is a "must" finish to our shopping trips, and we have never been disappointed.
Our Frist Stop In New York – I'm glad I didn't go by any of the negative reviews on this site or we may not have stopped in. All I know is that we arrived late in New York City, starving from long flight delays and this place was right down the block from our hotel. Even late at night the place was busy and the food was FRESH and YUMMY! The fact it was busy while there were plenty of other places around still open, speaks for itself. This is not my first time in New York, so I knew what to expect. To the rest of my family th... read more
Excellent for Lunch - get there EARLY! – While working in Midtown, my friends and I would go here for a quick lunch every once in a while. The first time we went, we had a very long wait, and learned from another patron that if you wanted to be seated quickly, you had to get to the restaurant by 11:45am. The choices for food were pretty good - they have a lunch special where you pick your pasta, you pick your sauce, and you pay one price. Sometimes we'd split a salad or an appetizer, but regardless, the food was always good.... read more
Small portions – I have to say that although the food is usually quite good . . most of the staff is very unfriendly and sarcastic. I think it's a family run business, so that might explain it. I work down the block so it's convenient. Went today and wanted a chicken dish ($6). The guy behind the counter places one very tiny chicken cutlet in a big alumunum pan for me. That's it! No sauce (it had mushrooms and sauce on the tray), so I had to ask for that! Then knew I would be hungry after just one little cutlet and decided t... read more
AVOID LUNCH HOUR – PIZZA WAS TERIBLE AND THE GUY BEHIND THE COUNTER WAS SARCASTIC AND RUDE! OWNER NEEDS TO TEACH HIS STAFF MANNERS!
Pizza was OK.... Service was typical – Went there during lunch hour on Monday, so I guess that was my mistake. I guess not being from NY and not knowing how to order pizza was my downfall. The guy working behind the counter basically made me look like an idiot for not memorizing the slices of pizza. Being a tourist, I guess I should study up on pizza ordering in NY. Anyway, as for the pizza, it was good, but not great. We have a pepperoni slice, a cheese slice, and a ham and cheese calzone. Not bad, but not great. I guess it... read more
