Edit: This facility needs to force their behavioral healthcare staff to wear body cameras that cannot be turned off. My neighbors abused Chapter 122C of NC General Statutes (specifically G.S. 122C-261 through 122C-276), to have me committed. The first four days I was treated with the bare minimum of respect, but also treated like a prisoner with no rights. Lots of condescending remarks from staff. If you go there, Expect to die in pain. They don't care about you. I was in a pain, two nurses need to carry me to the hospital with my husband also helping, my diagnosis is probably herniated disc due to my back has a curve and the symptoms that I was having, I couldn't put weight on legs or hips and knees, hips lower pack and legs I feel an intense pain and burnin. This place is a prison. I was placed here due to a suicide attempt following a very traumatic event. Upon being placed in a room in the ER, I was not offered any food or water, I was seen by one psychiatrist that then aired out my personal business in the hallway of a filled department, was not given a call bell, and so many more things. My young son had a psychotic episode recently (his first) and I immediately took him to the ER for help. In the ER, he was being treated as someone experiencing psychosis (possibly schizophrenia) and was sent to the Behavioral Center to be evaluated (which is not part of the hospital) further by psychiatrists.
