My experience with Wilmington Behavioral Health has been upsetting and very disappointing. My loved onewas placed on an involuntary hold there for five days, and in that time, it felt like no real planning or support happened at all. I expected some kind of structure, maybe a plan to help him stabilize after his release, and actually have him moving toward recovery, but that just didn’t happen. The communication is terrible. No one expects a stellar experience when being admitted for behavioral health needs. That being said, my experience @ NOvant Behavioral was a incredibly poor. With the exception of FOUR inpatient employees and ONE social worker this place would be laughable if it wasn't so terrifying. A) I was woefully misdiagnosed. I had low sodium and was then committed involuntary. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS and NO doctor should ever miss such a simple diagnosis. Absolutely terrible. The doctor made me go completely cold turkey on all of my medication (I have MDD, PMDD, ASD, ADHD, and OSFED) and I think that was a ridiculous idea. Also, the doctor diagnosed me with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) which is a PERSONALITY DISORDER, after spending less than 10 minutes with me. The hell are you, a genie? Insane work coming from a doctor.
