Locals, EAT HERE!! The food is A-MAZING, and the owners are great! We went for the fried fish (OMIGOSH--until today, I thought fried fish was just a tarter sauce delivery device, but I didn't adulterate this crunchy, delicious fish with it at all!). Tried four of the sides and each one had something unique and different about it. Support local! Try them! Next door to Waffle House at Mercury & Rutherford in Murfreesboro. And you've gotta love that the owner walks through to make sure every customer is happy!
Placed an order online, received the order confirmation and the payment processed. Went to pick it up at the pickup time (11:50 on a Saturday), and they weren’t even open. Waited until noon to see if they were opening late for some reason, but they were still closed. Their website and Google says they open at 11 on Saturdays…
This place was great! Honestly, 5 stars isn't enough. Polite staff, amazing food, reasonable price. Food was slower to come out than I expected, but when it arrived... I understood why. Everything was incredibly fresh and served hot. Best fried okra I've found in the area. Greens were perfect. The Philly wasn't what I'd call a "traditional" Philly cheese steak sandwich, but it was an incredible soul food take on it with the meat being well seasoned and perfectly spiced. I will be back. I have done to-go and dine in and had great experiences with both. Fantastic good, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. If you want a meat and two this is the place to go!
Majority of the items on menu they didn't have or no longer sold. The greens tasted like the whole salt container was dumped in one 1 serving of greens. Mac n cheese was dry and unseasoned. not enough cheese. The cornbread, white beans, and fried okra was decent. The sweet potatoes was mashed soupy sweet potato syrup. This was my first visit and probably last. If I do go back I'll try the wings, they looked good.
