May daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes nearly 7 years ago, and through sheer luck we were placed with Dr. Araiza in the hospital. We followed her into private practice, and I am eternally thankful for every moment under her care. She is understanding, takes the time to listen to and to teach my daughter and myself each and every visit. We have been a patient since the doors opened almost 7 years ago, and have watched the steady decline in services. We used to be able to get a sick day appointment, after hours call back, nurse call back - but not anymore. The office staff and nurses lack professionalism, and it seems you are at a high volume practice at the med center rather than a family practice pediatric office, considering you never know which doctor or nurse practitioner or resident you will see. I have never once received a call back from a nurse or doctor. You physically have to go to the office to speak to someone for simple questions. After hours is none existent even though it is advertised. I've already reported them the BBB for negligence.
Going to an endocrin appt is a big deal for our family. (2 type 1 diabetic daughters) When we arrived at our scheduled appt 10-15 min early. They had the doors locked, saw us outside in the on again off again rain and ignored us. They let us inside only 4 minutes before our appt time after calling and knocking repeatedly to get a response.
