I have been patient of Dr. Bechtel's around 20 years. He has always been attentive and caring. I have never had problems with office staff. I would highly recommend.
I love Dr Bechtel and my entire family sees him. We have been going to his office for over 20 yrs. He is very patient and has great bedside manners. I think he is a great doctor. I do have issues with his staff at times. They are not always patient oriented and I have had incidents that were confrontational. Totally unacceptable. He seems to have s high turnover in n staffing minus a few that have been with him got many years. His two greatest employees are Lisa a MA and office managerJudy in my book. Horrible practice with total lack of empathy or patient care. He is my mother's PCP and despite our entire family's shared concerns for her mental health, she has only been seen by a nurse practitioner who insisted that "nothing was wrong" after a ~10 minute visit. Multiple long phone conversations expressing concerns and describing entire mental EPISODES was met with a condescending tone by the same nurse practitioner. dirty patient room, poor staff, failed to get my lab scripts to correct office, poor follow up, lack details when providing details to me, lack of professional attitude in my opinion. have so much more bad to say, that it will not fit in this text window. Do your homework when selecting a doctors office.
The office staff is among the worst I have ever seen. Why are they in the medical profession if they don't care about patients? Dr Bechtel on the other hand is very professional and helpful however seems to have little control over his front office staff.
Lack of responsiveness and urgency - I've had to wait days to get a call back. In 5 office visits, I've never actually had an appointment with the doctor; I've always been pushed off on nurse practitioners. When I did raise the issue about long waits, and people who arrived after me being taken in first, I was told that I should be glad that I'm not in the ER, because there I'd really have to wait.
The man is a MEDICAL GENIUS. I have no idea how he does it, but he can figure out what's wrong with you even before you leave the waiting area to walk back to one of the examination rooms. He's always calm and focused ' and also has a great sense of humor. You really do feel like the only patient in the world during those 10 or 15 min that every doctor is stuck with these days. I've been going to him for years, and he's one of the best doctors I've ever seen. His staff is really great too. Can't recommend him enough!

Nice practice My daughter has been going here since she was about 8 years old (she's 18 now), and the same nursing staff is still there. They all recognize her and treat her like royalty when she comes to visit. The staff is always helpful with the necessary school paperwork like physical forms and vaccination records. We have been fortunate to not have any major medical issues, but I am sure that if we had, this office would be right on top of things. We have always had great experiences here.
