It’s been almost a year and a half since Emma delivered my son. She’s a professional, some people may not like that, as other comments have stated but she gets to the point and she makes sure that you and the baby are well. Emma’s a no nonsense kind of woman and that’s what we appreciated about her. The name is ironic Emma offers anything but a beautiful beginning. There were so many red flags with her (she’s constantly busy and overbooks herself, she doesn’t always answer her phone, she is the only midwife at the practice, she doesn’t like doulas, she told me babies born bald tend to die prematurely in life, at my 36wk appt she told me that she was having a weird “trend” happening where she had to cut the umbilical cord BEFORE baby was out of the birthing canal, etc.) but as a first time mom I let them slide. Run away from this place. This practice is in a run down shopping mall, it is not the beautiful center you see advertised in the pictures. My visit went well and I paid my deposit bc she seemed knowledgeable and reviews were good but then right after I checked her credential online and she wasn’t even credentialed (they were expired). Again, don’t walk, run away! I went to Sandra Tallbear at the Natural Birthing Center and had the beautiful home birth I was looking for and all the support I needed.
Insanely rude interaction with staff. Could not get a call back for more than 24hrs or anyone to answer the phone. Went with Moontower Midwifery who are the polar opposite.
