Beaumont Hospital is a horrible place to send a loved one. My mother went in the hospital in July 2010 just to get port in order to receive antibiotics at home. BUT the hosptal kept there for 34 days flat on her back and she received BED SORES all over her body. My passed away in September 2010. I filed a complaint with the stat of Michigan. My husband had his leg amputated at Beaumont Royal Oak. The nurses on floor 9th floor were GREAT!! I could never say anything bad about them at all!! They made sure to get his medicine correct. To relieve his pain. When he got the the therapy floor on 7th floor is when he was totally forgot about. They said they had their hourly checks to see how patients are. That was soo funny. the billing department at Beaumont has no idea what they are doing from not billing the correct information to insurance companies to never answering the phones if you have a question about a bill.
I was admitted into this horrible place for a simple gall bladder operation. They put me in a room with a person with Turrets Syndrome that kept me up that first night after surgery. When I complained and asked to be moved - they did. They put me on the "heart floor" and tried to bilk my insurance for as many dollars as possible. Then, two male nurses came in my room and wanted to take my temperature with a rectal thermometer! This hospital and Administration does NOT CARE FOR the health and welfare of their PATIENTS! Our mother was an 83 yr. old dementia patient and given emergency surgery. Afterwards the hospital was unable to locate the gold cross & chain she never took off her neck. They claim not to be obligated for its loss even though they removed the item prior to this unscheduled, emergency surgery when no family members were around. I have to agree, the billing department at Beaumont has no idea what they are doing from not billing the correct information to insurance companies to never answering the phones if you have a question about a bill. Maybe you should go to another hospital that knows how to bill.
I had a wonderful experience at Beaumont Royal Oak Hospital. After my surgery the staff went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable and all my medical needs were promptly attended to. I would highly recommend this fine hospital to anyone.
Royal Oak Beaumont is the worst hospital in the area. I had to be re-admitted after giving birth to my daughter for having an infection. I told them that i felt like something was wrong after the birth but they kept insisting that everything was ok. I actually left home with an infection from the hospital and had to be re-admitted six days later for four days. It was the worst experience of my life.
