I became a fan of this salon even before going to my appointment for the first time. I was on vacation and wanted to treat myself with a new style before going back home. I was so impressed with the staff at Chopping Block! We were in town for my daughter’s wedding. My wife and I really hadn’t had time to get our hair cut or styled. So we found out about Chopping Block. At first I was a little hesitant because you have a choice of having an apprentice or a master work on your hair. I’m a little apprehensive about my hair because it’s already fine and thinning, so whoever is working on it really has to know what they’re doing. Emily gave me a dry cut for curtain bangs and face framing and it looks incredible!! I have super thin hair and never like to get it cut, but it sits so well when I shower and let it air dry now. I like low maintenance hair where I don’t have to use heat on it for it to sit well, and it turned out great. Will be returning. Game changer!!!

I wanted a clear gloss. Something to enhance my natural color. Stylist repeatedly only gave me two options- red or violet. I said I don't want either of those, I want a chocolate brown to match my natural hair. Ended up with a red toner in my hair which is just not what I had wanted. I also told her I always do a blunt cut and she gave me long layers even though I told her I wear braids a lot and don't want strands poking out. I did enjoy the scalp detox I had booked though.
