Amazing staff! IMPORTANT PARKING INFO!!!: 1). If you are a patient or driving a patient to the BC Cancer Agency, register your license plate when checking in at the front desk to receive a free parking pass. 2). Finding parking at Surrey Memorial Hospital between 8 AM and 2 PM, Monday to Friday, can be very challenging!!! While I have occasionally found a spot quickly, it is common to spend 30 to 45+ minutes circling lots and the nearby streets. I don't know how you could ask for a more helpful and kind group of people helping us at the cancer clinic. The clinic itself is super clean, very well organized, uncrowded, and operates in an extraordinarily timely manner. In my case, I can say that I appreciate the TrueBeam state-of-the-art external beam radiation machines. During my wife’s pregnancy, Jesse Shustik incorrectly diagnosed her with Stage II cancer, which caused immense stress and emotional trauma for our family during an already difficult time. Later medical results showed that the diagnosis was wrong. What was even more disappointing was the response after we filed a complaint. BC Cancer reviewed the case but appeared to fully defend the doctor and refused to acknowledge or criticize the incorrect diagnosis. Awful experience with Surrey BCCA , 3 to 5 referrals, plus phone calls were sent/made from different doctors : family doc, ,surgeon, etc before and during my husbands stay in the hospital recovering after his surgery (colon cancer ) , No respond on emergency case what so ever ! That 2 month of delay was absolutely crucial for my husband’s metastatic condition , After my husband passed away appointment was finally booked with Dr Jones?! Really ?!! Not a penny donation anymore to that organisation ever again
The release of information desk have no clue what their doing or they just sit on their hands all day. I needed a form completed by the doctor there which I waited a few days for understanding it takes time. I literally see it filled out in their stack of papers there but "need to attach reports with it" which they already gave me on my initial visit earlier in the week. I don't even need them to fax to the insurance I rather do it myself. And yet they say the SLA for completing forms is THIRTY DAYS. The form is literally re... read more
