Sold my girlfriend a car claiming it was fully up to date on all maintenance, not two years later timing belt snaps. It was due to be done at the time she purchased it. Prices are insane too, asking 3k for a car realistically worth $1300 that clunks, rattles and grinds going down the road.

Bought 2003 Suburu for 1200. First day bought gas and engine light went on. Next day tried changing oil and was so rotted could not get cap off no matter what tool was used. A long time since anyone tried changing oil. A few days later overheated and head gasket problem. Called and was told they would let owner know. I know it wasn't a lot of money but it was like throwing 1200 out the window. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Andy and Linda Noonan

Bought my 04 Hyundai santa Fe for just under 3,000 last summer. It broke down three times because of what I was told was a crankshaft position sensor. They fixed it twice for me but it didn't last more than a few weeks before it broke down again. As it was under $3,000 it didn't qualify for Rhode islands lemon law. Unfortunately I bought one of the cars that didn't last. Now I am junking the car and losing 2500 plus all the tow fees.
